If you turn on the t.v., watch a commercial, or attend a professional theatrical production, you are most likely watching actors with well developed improvisational skills. In this class, students will flex their creativity - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Using theatre games and exercises based on the work of Viola Spolin, among others, students will gain the ability to think quickly on their feet, connect more closely with characters, and explore a new level of acting technique.
Students work with their director/instructor to create authentic and dynamic characters in the context of performing scenes from published plays. This class provides young student actors with important and relevant acting tools such as: imagination and observation, listening skills, focus and concentration, action and reaction, script analysis, and more!
