History - Established in 2010 - Catalyst Soccer founder Alicia Piz started with a passionate mission to improve youth soccer so players would not have to suffer the numerous injuries she endured. She crafted a 12,000sf soccer gym that enjoyed 7 years of success in San Diego, but the vision for how Catalyst Soccer could impact the growing soccer community was greater than 1 city. So she and her husband Matt Couch, who had an impressive soccer career too plus lengthy experience as a teacher, formalized their effective training methods into an educational curriculum for trainers to develop players "the Catalyst way". Then they created a digital platform that allows players to book appointments with Catalyst Certified Personal Trainers nationwide in addition to training themselves online. In 2017, Catalyst Soccer Training and Education focused its mission exclusively on connecting dedicated soccer players with quality soccer players around the US.
